Giant Pink Snail

In the forests of the Alps and on top of the isolated mountain "Cabotar", there is pink molluscs reproduce and it's not in any other place in the world. It reachs 20cm in length. It does not crawl out of it's home exept on rainy nights to eat the leaves of trees. These animals are called scientifically (Triboniophorus aff. Graeffei). They feed mainly on plants carnivorous or insect-eating and scouring the mountain for snails plant, which is also the main source of their food.

And was often the locals talk about their vision for molluscs and pink strange after heavy rainfall in the region, but this discovery has not been officially ascertained only recently.
Michael Murphy, from the Department of services in national parks for wildlife, said in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, "that if I wandered in the early morning in the region will be able to watch hundreds of these giant snails."
Humid rainforest in Mount Cabotar have a single ecosystem, this small island of mountain forests in the Alps has an area of only about 10 kilometers, which is teeming with life of unique creatures.

Scientists believe that this region flourished remnants of a bygone era when most areas of eastern Australia damp rainforest, which may have disappeared a long time ago, after the volcano exploded in Mount Cabotar since about 17 million years ago.Eruption led to the formation of high Heights has become a haven for invertebrate animals and plants, this region has been isolated for millions of years after the drought-hit Australia receded area of the rainforest.
